Tails Up!

Tails Up was a blast this past weekend! We had some beautiful weather, though it did get a bit warm on Sunday. We are still getting used to being outside again, so there were a couple of sunburns and very white legs making a reappearance for 2012. The crew down in Chesapeake, Virginia are always great fun, we were done early on Saturday so we got to take part in an epic Yappy Hour. It was the best one yet! Tons of food and tasty beverages. Sam even brought a chocolate fountain! We are never short on decadent treats for sure.

Judge Chris Nelson brought some fun courses and his usual charm. Perhaps it was that that inspired the ladies of PZ to do so well! There were some big accomplishments and a lot of big ribbons being handed out. Big congrats go out to:

Paula Goss and Trae: Versatility Medal-4!!

Sam Lietz and Schatzi: Versatility NATCH-3!!

Nicole Bailey and Jinn: Novice Triple Superior!!

Priscilla Warnock and Robey earned their very first title, Novice Tunnelers!!

It was a wonderful weekend, we always look forward to seeing the Tails Up group and spending the weekend with such a fun, welcoming crowd. It is also fantastic that Tails Up is working so hard to bring EGC to the East Coast. It is much appreciated! We look forward to coming down again in November.

All the girls can't resist Chris

Even Schatzi had to try and get in a smooch...

Big achievements at All About Animals!

The weather was perfect for agility, chilly, overcast and the dogs were LOVING it! The trial was small, but the successes were huge. Janet Ooms brought some fun and challenging courses and PZ dogs did not disappoint. Way to go teams!

Tom Moloney-Harmon and Piper - NATCH-13/Versatility NATCH-13!!

Leanne Lohmeyer and Cody - NATCH-S-2!!

And congrats to PZ friend Cathie Cage and Clayton for a drop dead gorgeous Jumpers run that earned them their Medal /Versatility Medal!!

She isn't ready to run with those big guns yet, but Jinn Bailey finished her Superior Novice Regular and Superior Novice Jumpers titles on Saturday and blew her Mom away by nailing all her Open runs the following day when she moved up!! Good job baby Jinn.

Another baby dog wowing the crowd was Suz Sullivan's Phoenix. He is looking AMAZING running with Debi and obviously enjoying every second of it! He brought home some pretty Q ribbons this weekend.

March Trial

It started out a bit gloomy and rainy. We had to make some changes in the normal parking arrangements due to some messy mud, but we ended with beautiful, sunny weather and as always big smiles and great food.

Judge Dwayne Bonker brought some interesting courses, but the teams were up to the challenge! So many beautiful runs at this trial, it was great to see some new teams really coming together, to see established teams looking great and to see teams that have been sidelined by injury make a beautiful comeback. It sure was nice to see Lynn and Asher tearing up the courses again.

There was a particularly fast and fun tunnelers course on Saturday. Big smiles from both dogs and handlers on that one. There were six dogs over 8 YPS on that course and one even reached 9.10 YPS!! Amazing!

As usual Debi Hutchinson was handling about 100 dogs. No idea how she manages to fit it all in and run so well with so many different sizes and personalities. She ran her own dogs and also was a superb rent-a-handler for Phoenix, Keli and Mr. Phancy Pants Phantom. There were some beautiful runs with each of these dogs. Way to go Debi!

We had 4 big debuts at this trial as well. Those teams are just starting out, but already showing so much promise! Each one earned their first Q at their first trial. Way to go!

Lindy and Remi

Judy and Pebbles

Brian and Chick

Doug and Cassie

We have gotten a new brag board where everyone can share their triumphs both big and small. It was so cool to see everyone's accomplishments listed together like that. We sure have a lot to celebrate. Huge congrats go out to:

Charlotte Idleman and Raven - NATCH-2/Versatility NATCH-2!!

Debbie Brown and "Boombox" Bailey - Open Triple Superior!

Nicole Bailey and Jinn - Novice Versatility!

Donna Miller and Blue - Novice Versatility!

There were many titles earned and firsts accomplished. Congrats to:

Sapphire - 1st Elite Q, S-OAC, S-OCC

Nicco - 1st Q in Open Touch-n-Go, O-TN-O

Bonnet - 1st Q in Novice Jumpers!

Romance - S-OAC

Lucky - NCC

Dart - HP-E

Jasper - O-TN-E and he held his stay!

Keli - S-TG-N, OJC, TN-O

Blue - O-TN-O, NCC

Dora - S-TG-N, S-TN-N

Because everyone was running so well, the competition for High in Trial was fierce. Those that earned the ribbons at this trial had perfect or near perfect weekends. WOW! Impressive performances by all 3 teams.

HIT teams from L-R: Open - Joan and Lucy, Novice - Anne and Nelle, Debi and her magical path-drawing crayon, Elite - Jean and Kopper

And possibly the biggest brag of the whole weekend... Paula Goss and both her dogs got to the trial on time on Sunday!! We are proud of you Paula! :) In all seriousness, it was a fun weekend and we can't wait to see you all again in May. Mark your calendars for the 26-27!

January Trial!

We were blessed with unseasonably GORGEOUS weather for our January trial. Since we are in an unheated horse arena this is unbelievably appreciated. It was sunny and breaking into the 60s each day. There were a lot of smiling faces, human and doggie, to be seen.

Suz once again masterminded the Roadkill Cafe. Crockpots lined up like soldiers, each one filled with some hot, delicious goodies. We all ate well and enjoyed sampling new dishes and some old favorites. There were lots of desserts and and even breakfast sandwiches made to order each morning. We are so spoiled!

We had some big debuts at this trial. Priscilla Warnock and baby Robey made their big leap into competition, entering a few classes and looking great! They even earned their first Q!!

Robey is loving this game (photo courtesy of Deb Baracco)

Go Weave! (Photo courtesy of Debbie Burdick)

Erin Batchelor and Lola started off with a bang, earning a Q on their very first run!

Lola is ready to GO! (Photo courtesy of Debbie Burdick)

Anne Lallande and Jake looked like and experienced team and brought home a Q to celebrate her mustering up the courage to hit the big time and enter their first trial! (No photo available)

We look forward to watching these 3 PZ teams start their journey together and seeing all of the success as they grow in the sport.

We got to give out some pretty ribbons this time around. Huge congrats to:

Nicole Bailey and Mojo NATCH-13/Versatility NATCH-13!

Scott Whittington and Lexis Versatility NATCH-7!

And another cool note, brothers Gabe and Canon, owned by Debi Hutchinson and Nicolette Eaton, earned their Novice All Arounds on the same day! Good job boys!!

We all had a blast running on some fun courses brought to us by Ben Philibert, one of our favorite judges. He comes out to judge this trial every year and we are always happy to see his smiling face. Some of our members had some real success out there, leading to a first for high in trial. We are so proud of them! Congrats to:

Deb Baracco and Jet - Elite / Deb Baracco and Cash - Open / Anne Beach and Nelle - Novice

This is the first time any one handler has taken HIT with 2 different dogs!! Way to go Deb! And way to go Anne and Nelle who are really starting to gel as a team and it shows in your results.

It was a ton of fun, we will see everyone soon for our March trial. Here's hoping we don't have snow!

PZ scores big at ITZ!

The last In the Zone trial of the year was a blast! There were almost 500 runs on Saturday, but we got it done and had such a fun time. As always, there was food, music and great friends to share it with. Judge Don Cuda brought a big smile as always and some really fun courses. Team PZ had a good showing and achieved some big milestones over the weekend. Huge congrats go out to:

Tom Moloney-Harmon and Piper - NATCH-12/Versatility NATCH-12!

Beth Strother and Phantom - NATCH-4/Versatility NATCH-4!

Leanne Lohmeyer and Cody - Triple-Triple Superior!! Cody is the first born-deaf dog to achieve this feat!!!

After months of rehab Bailey Brown made his return to competition with a very happy Debbie running alongside him!

And after 7 months off from agility following an injury, Mojo Bailey made his big comeback to the ring. He never missed a beat, and both he and Nicole could not stop beaming the whole weekend long.

Thanks so much to Lisa and Dwayne for the great trials you put on all year long. Here's to an even better 2012!!
